Hyderabadi Chicken Dalcha

This is so easy recipe of chicken dalcha. Usually Kids avoid to eat dals , try to give them like this with there favorite chicken in it. We can also substitute boneless beef cubes with boneless chicken or you can use chicken with bones to keep it economical

Ingredients

For Daal
Petite yellow lentil (moong daal : 1/2 cup
Red lentil (Lal masoor Dal) : 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Salt : 1 tsp or as required

For Chicken
Boneless chicken : 500 gm
Oil : 1/2 cup
Garlic paste : 1 1/2 tsp
Ginger paste : 1 tsp
Onion ( chopped) : 2 medium
Tomato (chopped) : 1/2 cup
Salt : 1 tsp
Red chilli powder: 2 tsp
Red chilli flakes: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Tamarind pulp : 1/2 cup

For Tempering
Oil : 1/4 cup
Button red chilli: 6-8
Curry leaves: 10-12
Fenugreek seeds: 1/2 tsp
Mustard seed: 1/2 tsp
Black seeds: 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds: 1 tsp

Method
Soak both daals for 30 min
Put it in cooking pan with 3-4 glass of water
When first boil comes, you can see scum on top
Remove it
Add turmeric powder and boil till Dal become tender
Add salt , cook for 2 minutes more
Blend it in fine paste

In another pan heat oil add onion
Fry till it becomes golden brown
Add chicken, saute for 2 Minutes
Add ginger, garlic, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder,red chilli flakes, and tomatoes
Saute for a while
Cover and cook for 5 min
Chicken will be done in its own water but if u use chicken with bones, then add 1/2 cup water
Cover and cook till chicken done and oil becomes separate
Add prepared Dal paste and tamarind pulp in it
Mix and let it cook for more 5 Minutes
For Tempering
Heat oil , add button red chilli
Fry for a while
Add all remaining ingredients
When seeds crackle
Pour it over Dal
Garnish with fresh corriander leaves and green chillies
Serve with bhagaray rice 🍚
